The Woodsy Bear is centrally located on the North Shore of Lake Tahoe. Access to all the ski areas, lake, beaches and shopping is within minutes. Lake Tahoe beaches are a few minutes away for a refreshing swim, boating, kayaking, or picnicking. Northstar-at-Tahoe Resort is the closest ski resort (5 minutes away) for skiing, mountain biking and golf. This vacation home is central to the other 4 major resorts on the North Shore of Lake Tahoe, all about 15 to 20 minutes away: Mount Rose Ski Area, Diamond Peak Ski Area, Alpine Meadows and Squaw Valley. Tahoe National Forest is out the back door for mountain biking, hiking, cross county skiing, and snow shoeing. The North Shore also boasts wonderful lake-front dining, restaurants and a great variety of nightlife including the casinos and window shopping.

- Take I-80 East through Sacramento (toward Reno) to Truckee
- Take exit 188B (CA-267) heading South toward Lake Tahoe - 10 miles.
- Go over Brockway Summit and turn Right on National Ave.

- Take Hwy 89 North along the West Shore of the lake
- Just past the Safeway on Hwy 89, turn left on North Shore Drive (267)
